Heartbreaking last photos of the bride who was killed by a drunk driver just moments after her wedding have surfaced.
Samantha Miller, 34, was seen smiling from ear to ear and embracing her partner, 36-year-old Aric Hutchinson, in photos and videos from the couple’s wedding reception at Folly Beach in South Carolina.
After having the best day of their lives, the young couple retreated from their wedding venue and went for a ride in a golf cart together with two wedding guests, both relatives of Samantha.
During the late Friday ride, 25-year-old Jamie Komoroski slammed into the couple’s golf cart at 65 mph and caused the vehicle to overturn several times before it stopped some one hundred yards from the point of the collision.
Following the crash, Samantha succumbed to her injuries while her husband remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Their families have since shared a series of tear-jerking photos showing the pair enjoying their ceremony and reception. In one picture, the couple can be seen dancing and kissing while another shows them feeding cake to each other.
Footage showing the pair embracing each other during the first dance was also shared.
“I’ve never seen the light in her eyes shine as bright as that day. At the beginning of the golf car ride she said that she wished the night could go on forever. It was the best night of their lives,” Mandi Jenkins, Samantha’s sister, told ABC4.
“I never thought it would happen to us and to my beautiful sister and all the 150 people that were there.
“That person made a careless mistake and it’s not a mistake it’s a life-changing event. She was unbelievably special and now she’s not here.”
Recalling the tragic incident was also Sam’s mother, Lisa, who said:
“I got out of my truck with no shoes, running and screaming Sam. She literally ran into my daughter going 65mph. Sam and Aric were on the back of the golf cart – she basically just rammed my child.
“Aric has a very long physical journey ad a longer emotional journey. They couldn’t be more perfect for each other.”
The family has also set up a GoFundMe page aiming to raise funds for Samantha’s funeral expenses.
Meanwhile, another GoFundMe page set up by Aric’s mother, Annette Hutchinson, has already raised over $570,000 as of this writing.
