JUST IN: ‘Breaking Bad’ Actor Mark Margolis Has DIED At The Age Of 83


Breaking Bad actor Mark Margolis has died at the age of 83 after a brief illness, his family announced.

His grieving son, Morgan Margolis, said that his father passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Best known for his role as Hector Salamanca in Breaking Bad, the actor received an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actor in a drama series.

Margolis’ performance was so impressive that he was brought back to reprise the role in its spin-off series Better Call Saul.

In a 2016 interview, he opened up about his return as Hector and revealed his shock at the love fans had for his character.

“I was only coming onto Breaking Bad as far as I knew for that one episode, but there’s no accounting for taste, and the fans took a fancy to me,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Speaking about his talent to portray such a loathsome character, he said: “Somebody asked me recently, ‘How did you manage to play such a horrible guy?’ and I said, ‘Have you talked to my friends?’ They’ll tell you I’m pretty miserable to begin with.”

The devastating news of his death has affected industry professionals and fans.

Margolis leaves behind a memorable legacy in the cinematic world as he was acclaimed for his unforgettable performances in great films such as Black Swan, Scarface, and Requiem For A Dream.

In a 2020 interview with Eric Broadbent, Margolis spoke about his experience learning from Stella Adler.

“My first impression of her was, ‘If God is a woman, this is him.’ She was larger than life. Everything that I know [about acting] came from Stella,” he said.
