10-Year-Old Boy Who KILLED His Mother Over VR Headset BEGS His Family To PROTECT His Gadgets While He Remains In Custody

A 10-year-old boy who was taken into custody for shooting his mother dead after she refused to buy him a virtual reality headset has begged his family to protect his gadgets.

Reports reveal that the young boy is being charged as an adult with first-degree reckless homicide after he shot his mother Quiana Mann, 44, on November 21 over a VR headset.

He had been in therapy for more than a year to help with his behavioral problems and part of the treatment was limiting the use of tech devices and screens, according to the Daily Mail.

Rhonda Reid, the child’s aunt, claimed he doesn’t remember the shooting and quickly changes the conversation back to his devices.

The shooting incident occurred at around 7 am after the mother told him that she wouldn’t get him a VR headset.

He initially claimed that he had also been frustrated as his mother woken him up early.

Soon after allegedly killing his mother, the young boy used her card to order a new VR headset from Amazon.

The boy’s family spoke to TMJ4 about the horrific incident, with reports asking the aunt if he was capable of doing such a thing to his own mother.

She replied: “No, absolutely not. He was upset about these (electronic) devices being taken away […] When he calls, he’s just like, ‘make sure all my tablets and laptop and everything of mine is packaged.’”

When speaking to the boy from juvenile detention, Reid said her nephew changes the topic to his gadgets, adding that he was too young to understand the severity of the charges.

The boy’s grandmother, Lueritha Mann, also said that she finds it difficult to speak to her grandson.

“He needs to pay for what he’s done,” adding she hopes to speak with him one day. “I hope I do one day, but right now no. He took something very precious from me.”
