A teenage boy from Alaska fatally shot three of his siblings before pointing the “family gun” to himself and taking his own life.
The shocking murder-suicide case takes place in Skyridge Dr, Fairbanks, where a 15-year-old boy killed three of his brothers and sisters aged five, eight, and seventeen.
After shooting his siblings execution style, the boy pointed the gun to himself and took his own life.
While the identities of the victims remain unclear, the police have revealed that the boy’s parents and one of his other siblings weren’t at home at the time of the incident.
Three other siblings that were at home at the time of the shooting were unharmed.
The massacre took place on Tuesday at around 4.17 pm, and it has been confirmed that the boy used a “family gun” to kill his siblings.
State Troopers have since launched an investigation into the shocking killings with spokesperson Tim DeSpain confirming they are still working to figure out the motive for the murders.
“[He used a] family gun but beyond that, it’s all still part of the ongoing investigation,” DeSpain said in an interview with the Washington Post.
It was also revealed that the bodies of the slain children were sent to Alaska’s medical examiner for an autopsy.
Following the brutal killings, the state’s Children’s Services have been notified, State Troopers said.
“[We] will not provide any information due to rules and regulations involving the confidentiality of all involved in specific cases,” Clinton Bennett of the Department of Family and Community Services.
Bennett added that the office cannot “provide any information involving a case with an open investigation.”
