He was allegedly one of two young children who were being watched over by the babysitter at the time.

Foul play is not believed to have played a role in Harry’s disappearance. Instead, the police believe that the boy slipped away from the house and walked into the nearby forest alone.

“He’s active. He likes going outside. When he’s at home, he goes to the yard and plays. He’s a healthy kid but he can’t speak. He’s trying to learn how to speak, but he can’t talk,” the boy’s father told WMUR 9 before his body was discovered.

While some questioned the response of the police and blasted the authorities for not issuing an Amber Alert immediately after the boy was reported missing, local police chief John Fisher defended the decision saying that foul play was never suspected.

“The reason there’s no Amber alert is there’s no reason to believe there’s a crime,” he said after the search for Harry kicked off.

Meanwhile, a volunteer searcher who worked on the case recalled the harrowing moment Harry was found dead in the pond.

“I was looking for him in the cornfield, and all I heard is, ‘He’s gone. He’s in the pond. We’re going to take him out. Please get out of the cornfield,’” Kylie Vouley recalled in an interview with WCVB.
