Devastated parents of the boy also revealed that they were heading to the child’s birthday party.

“It’s heartbreaking, I have a kid myself, I have two kids and so I feel for those parents,” one of the witnesses told NBC4.

“Cars sometimes drive maybe over the speed limit with no intention of stopping. They look at you crazy, they just don’t care.”

The witness, who was identified as Theresa Arrocha, also claimed she was once a victim of a hit-and-run incident in the very same spot in the neighborhood of Eastlake.

Meanwhile, Tatiana Toleafoa, the boy’s aunt, launched a GoFundMe page to help the grieving parents pay for the medical and funeral expenses.

“As his family, we mourn for the life he won’t get to have and the heartbreak all those left behind will have to face,” she wrote.

“We’re doing this GoFundMe to help with my sweet nephew’s funeral expenses and services for the little angel that touched so many lives in so many different ways before he was called to Heaven.
