A family was left shaken after a much-loved young boy died suddenly in his sleep.
Balin Menzies was a 15-year-old Year 10 student from Melbourne, Australia, who died suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep on April 21.
According to the reports, the official cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
He will be remembered as a “funny and kind soul” who was involved in several sporting groups across his community of Greensborough.
Besides his passion for sports, the teenager also aspired to become a street artist and was known for his murals at Greensborough Skate Park.
“It has been an incredibly sad start to the term for the Greensborough College community as we mourn the passing of Balin Menzies, our student, classmate and friend,” a statement by Greensborough College read.
“He made many friends and impressed teachers and students with his artistic talents and cheerful demeanor. Balin will be sadly missed by all.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends, and our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”
Paying a tribute to young Balin and voicing support for his family were also members of his community who remembered the teenager as a “beautiful” and “kind” soul.

“Rest easy bro, won’t be the same without you man. Such a beautiful, funny and kind soul taken way too early,” another friend wrote.
One well-wisher expressed: “Everyone’s lost without you Balin. Words can’t describe how hard it’s been on all of us since you left.”
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page was set up to help the 15-year-old’s family through this difficult time.
