Maher went on to make a series of shocking jokes at the expense of the royals as he suggested Meghan Markle’s podcast was the Queen’s cause of death.

“You all know the big story. Sad day for inbreeding,” Maher said. “Queen Elizabeth died at 96, they say the cause of death was Meghan Markle’s podcast.”

He went on to react to Biden’s decision to attend the Queen’s funeral saying: “The White House has been saying for a long time they didn’t know whether Biden was going to the funeral; they finally said just a few hours ago he is gonna… I was not in doubt. Biden, funeral? It’s like when the dog hears your keys.”

The comedian then managed to get Trump involved in his narrative as he said the former president extended his condolences to the royal family and joked that he offered to have the Queen buried at his golf course.

He also suggested Elton John would be making a new song titled “Mustard in the Fridge” after previously writing “Candle in the Wind” When Princess Diana died in a car accident.

“Well, he’s noting the fact that Diana was 36 and the Queen is almost 100, mustard in the fridge. Seems to me you lived your life like mustard in the fridge,” he quipped while laughing.

“Nothing wrong with jokes as long as they’re intelligent, funny and not just insults covered in a comedy wrapping,” one displeased viewer from the UK said.
