Terrifying reports coming in from Costa Rica have confirmed the death of an innocent 8-year-old child that lost his life after being mauled by a crocodile.

Sources from local media outlets claim the child was killed when the giant creature emerged out of the water suddenly and grabbed a hold of him and then dragged him back inside.

The young boy was attacked and mauled to death by the massive beast in front of his horrified family members who happened to be playing near a river, right beside his home in Costa Rica.

The victim was identified as Julio Otero Fernandez and he is believed to be decapitated by the giant reptile.

This was reportedly right before he was dragged into the depths of the Matina River.

The incident took place last month in the city of Limon and the child was never to be seen alive again, authorities have confirmed.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, shocking reports revealed how one unidentified hunter shot and then killed a crocodile in the area. On that note, the locals were left with no choice but to cut open his stomach and this is where they spotted hair strands and bone fragments that are believed to belong to the young child.

The victim was killed while he was on a fishing trip with his parents, siblings, and a few others relatives. But nobody knew the trip would be so doomed that they would end up losing little Julio.

But one eyewitness has now come forward to shed more light on the matter. He says that the crocodile managed to get so close to the victim that he shook him and ripped off his little head. And soon after that, he managed to grab him again and took him down under the water.
