A 31-year-old father of two has appeared in court after being charged for the murder of 18-year-old Lily Sullivan in Pembrokeshire.
According to local media outlets, the accused has been identified as a 31-year-old village cricketer who murdered the teen, just hours after meeting her at a holiday-themed party.
The father of two named Lewis Haines has been accused of strangling the 18-year-old and then dumping her body at a pond at a beauty spot.
Meanwhile, the court listened to how Sullivan was reportedly found dead in Pembroke, just a little after 4 am on Friday. The accused claims he had met her for the first time, a few hours before he opted to kill her.
On the other hand, the prosecutor for the case revealed how Haines took an elevator to Pembroke and then showed up at the Paddles nightclub which is known as ‘The Out.’
He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and only spoke when he wished to confirm his name, address, and his date of birth during the courtroom hearing that lasted 5 minutes at Haverfordwest Court.
While the accused has been remanded in custody, he will now appear at the Crown Court in Swansea on Thursday, as reported by local media outlets.
The horrifying news has sent out feelings of heartbreak and utter devastation to Sullivan’s parents after they lost their only child, just one week before Christmas.
Flowers have been placed near the pond where the victim’s body was reportedly found. Meanwhile, a family tribute has gone on to explain how the 18 year old was a beautiful young woman and will be dearly missed by everyone. In the same way, the family spoke about how grateful they were to their daughter’s friends for all of their support during this difficult time.
It is still unclear as to what the exact motive of the murderer was and why he end up committing a crime that has torn one family apart forever.
