BREAKING: Wimbledon BANS Russian & Belarusian Players From Prestigious Tennis Tournament


Putin’s war is definitely taking a toll on plenty of different aspects around the globe and the latest to be affected is the prestigious Wimbledon tennis tournament.

According to local media reports, the event’s organizers have had their say and that entails banning both Russian as well as Belarusian players from the major sports tournament that captures hearts from all over.

The news comes into immediate effect from June of this year and that means in the upcoming Grand Slam, we won’t be seeing either of the two nations on the event map.

Sources revealed how the decision has come into place after a number of deliberations that have been going on for quite some time now. And some have been gone as far as mentioning how it actually came into place when the war began but many had their reservations.

This historic incident is definitely a first of its kind in terms of recent times. Moreover, the last time any nation’s players were banned was during the World War II era.

In 1946, the Japanese and German players weren’t given permission to compete. But about three quarter’s of a century later, critics are slamming the approach taken in the world of sports.

Some claim that Beijing’s much-talked-about Winter Olympics occurred, despite news about human rights violations against Uighur Muslims arising. Hence, many believe that this move is simply racism and that the event’s organizers believe more in sponsorship deals and partnerships than the sport itself.

The fact that so many Tennis superstars arise from Russia means the country will suffer a major hit but players believe that there should be only peace and love in the world of sports and that’s why they’re blasting the decision as totally unfair.
