Xavier was among 19 children and 2 teachers who were killed on May 24 after 18-year-old Salvador Ramos stormed Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and opened fire.

It was previously revealed that the honor roll student was a close friend of Annabell Guadalupe Rodriguez, another victim of the deadly shooting, with whom he would spend his free time and exchange love letters.

Due to the unbreakable bond they shared, their families vowed to bury the two children next to each other.

With young Xavier’s time to be laid to rest at the doorstep, the boy’s family reached out to the Tejano band known as Siggno and asked the group if they could honor the 10-year-old by performing at his funeral.

As the frontman of the Tex-Mex music band has since revealed, the band couldn’t turn down the family’s plea.

“I was reached out to by Xavier’s family that he really liked ‘Ya no me importa,’ and if I could come and sing a couple of songs for him, and I did,” Jesse Turner said.

He went on to recall the family’s final request before the band departed saying: “[They said] ‘Can you please do one more song which is his favorite song ‘Ya no me importa?’’ and I was like ‘That’s kind of an odd song to sing at a funeral.’”

Though the song is not something that would be normally played at a funeral, Jesse and the band gladly obliged knowing that it would mean the world to little Xavier.
