But according to reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin insists that he is not hitting civilian areas.
Photos from the outskirts of Kviy revealed extensive damage to Irpin, with burned-out vehicles, piles of rubble, and twisted metal all over the streets.

Other photos showed a devastated woman walking past a burning house after the city was targeted.
The northwestern city of Zhytomyr also came under massive shelling that left a school building destroyed.
However, Putin has insisted that Russian forces are not attacking Ukrainian cities, despite fears that around 100 people are buried under debris after an apartment building near the capital was struck.
Kyiv reported that Russia has lost more than 9,000 men, along with almost a thousand armored vehicles, dozens of helicopters and jets, and hundreds of tanks.
On Friday, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which supplies around 20 percent of electricity in Ukraine, was attacked.
Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky has slammed Russian troops for seizing the power plant and urged Putin’s people to remember the ‘catastrophic’ Chernobyl disaster.
The attack of the Zaporizhrhia power plant has been internationally condemned, with the US ambassador to the UN slamming the attack and French President Emmanuel Macron expressing concern about ‘the risks to nuclear safety.’
Moscow has tried to deny responsibility for the attack and claimed its troops were attacked by Ukrainian soldiers who set fire to the plant themselves.
