Ron Montgomery, Sheriff of York County and the City of Poquoson, has since spoken out and revealed that the suspect was charged with one felony count of child neglect and one count of animal cruelty. The former charge, however, could be upgraded to homicide after the autopsy results come in.

Meanwhile, tragic details surrounding the case have emerged.

It is said that Graham at 1 am on September 12 received a text from her friend who was asking her to buy cigarettes because she couldn’t do so herself. Graham then loaded Myrical and her dog in her car before driving off to a nearby 7-Eleven to buy the smokes.

After reaching the friend’s house, Graham left the baby all alone in the car before spending a “considerable amount of time” talking and bonding with her pal.

At around 8 am in the morning, Graham returned to her vehicle and drove to York County where she left the baby and the dog in the back of her car while she took a nap. More than six hours later, at 2:30 pm, Graham finally woke up and checked up on the child only to find that she had already succumbed to heat.
