A new autopsy report has revealed the cause of death for WWE star Sara Lee, who was found dead in October last year.
According to the documents released by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 30-year-old consumed a fatal dose of pills and alcohol that led to her tragic death.
It also reported that the former Tough Enough winner sustained injuries, including abrasions and bruises on her body and head, which authorities suspected came from falls as she was heavily intoxicated.
This comes almost seven months after it was revealed that Lee died.
In a heartbreaking statement, her mother Terri wrote: “It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus.
“We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially Cory [her husband] and her children.”
Best known for her participation in the sixth season of WWE’s Tough Enough, Lee managed to come out on top and earn a one-year contract with the WWE.
But after the expiration of her contract, she decided to give up her career as a mainstream performer.
The WWE took to Twitter and said in a statement: “As a former Tough Enough winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world.
“WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans.”
Lee’s husband, WWE performer Cory Weston, shared a heartbreaking tribute for his late wife.
“Dear Sara,” he wrote, “I loved you from the first moment I saw you. I would always say that you were an angel walking on this earth. Beautiful, compassionate, strong and so loving. An angel that blessed me with 3 of the most beautiful children I could imagine.
“But you were soo much more than just mom.
“You were a motivator, a best friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, the back bone of our family, and (my favorite), my wife.
“I really don’t know what to say in these uncertain times. I just know that death can’t take away the memories we made. I can’t promise that I will stop grieving but I know now, that you’re free.”
Lee is survived by her three children Brady, Case, and Piper.
