Actress Anne Heche is near death and could succumb to her injuries at any moment following her high-speed crash in Los Angeles, California.
The 53-year-old ‘Six Days Seven Nights’ star was involved in a horrific car crash on Friday when she plowed her blue Mini Cooper into a Mar Vista residence.
Upon the collision, Heche’s car and the house occupied by Lynne Mishele immediately caught fire. Both the vehicle and the home were destroyed.
As neighbors of the shocked tenant revealed, the actress’s car went almost all the way through the house due to its massive speed.
Investigators have since confirmed that the actress must have been driving the car at a speed of more than 90 mph.
It has also come to light that Heche was high on cocaine at the time of the accident, whereas the drug was found in her bloodstream following the crash.
While a vodka bottle was also pictured in the cupholder of Heche’s car just moments before the crash, officials claim that the actress wasn’t drinking alcohol in the hours leading to the collision.
“It will be a miracle if she recovers from this and comes out of this coma,” a source close to Heche said as they revealed the actress suffered life-threatening smoke inhalation.
“She needs everyone’s prayers. She is in the worst state you can imagine. Whatever you believe in, please pray for her, please.”
Meanwhile, another insider told DailyMail.com that Heche could be in a coma for a very long time provided she does survive the aftermath of the crash.
“She will be in a coma for a long time and there are fears she could die because her lungs don’t work on their own,” the source said.
The news comes shortly after it was revealed that the investigation into the crash was upgraded and that Heche could face felony charges including felony DUI.
