BREAKING: Four People Dead After Two Planes COLLIDE At Las Vegas Airport


Several people were killed as two small planes collided with each other mid-air at an airport in Las Vegas.

Four casualties were reported after two single-engine planes collided mid-air above North Las Vegas Airport on Sunday.

According to the authorities, the planes carried two people each. There were no survivors.

The collision took place right above an active runway, whereas one of the planes fell in a nearby water retention pond while the other swerved to a field.

While the official cause of the crash is yet to be confirmed, officials revealed that one of the planes plowed into the other while preparing to land.

As a result of the high-speed collision, both planes instantly caught fire and plunged to the ground.

In tragic photos from the scene, one of the aircraft can be seen burning and releasing billows of black smoke into the air at the dried-up water retention pond.

The other aircraft was pictured smashed into pieces after falling down on a field east of the airport.

“I can confirm that two planes have crashed resulting in multiple fatalities,” Information Officer Alexander Cuevas of North Las Vegas Police Department confirmed in a statement obtained by DailyMail.com.

The spokesperson went on to explain that the investigation into the mid-air crash has already been handed to federal authorities.

“The NTSB and the FAA have taken over control of the investigation. We are assisting where requested,” he added.

Confirming the horrible incident was also the Federal Aviation Administration who wrote: “Preliminary information indicates that the Piper PA-46 was preparing to land when it collided with the Cessna 172.

“The Piper crashed into in a field east of Runway 30-Right and the Cessna fell into a water retention pond.”

The investigation remains ongoing. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families.
