Jacob Albarado is a veteran CBP agent who was off duty when he received a concerning text message from his wife who teaches at Robb Elementary School where 18-year-old shooter Salvador Ramos killed 19 children and two teachers.

According to Albarado, he was at a barbershop when his wife Trisha, a fourth-grade math teacher, texted him and asked for help.

“There’s an active shooter. Help. I love you,” she wrote.

After receiving the text, Albarado, whose 8-year-old daughter was also in the school at the time of the shooting, grabbed his barber’s shotgun and rushed to the scene.

At the time of his arrival, a tactical team was reportedly ready to storm the school and the classroom in which Salvador had barricaded himself.

Albarado immediately joined in and began sweeping the classrooms and evacuating children along with two officers who covered him and two who helped the students flee the school.

“I’m looking for my daughter, but I also know what wing she’s in. So I start clearing all the classes in her wing,” he recalled.

“They were just all hysterical, of course. I did what I was trained to do.”

Albarado eventually found his wife, who was hiding in her classroom, and his daughter, who locked herself in a bathroom.

Meanwhile, one of his border patrol colleagues stormed the classroom occupied by Ramos and shot the gunman dead.

The news comes after horrifying reports claiming law enforcement agents, who refused to storm the classroom Ramos was in while waiting for tactical teams, pepper-sprayed and handcuffed desperate parents who wanted to storm the school themselves to save their children.

Among them was Angeli Rose Gomez, a mother whose two young children were in the school at the time of the shooting.

“The police were doing nothing. They were just standing outside the fence. They weren’t going in there or running anywhere,” she told the Wall Street Journal.

Gomez also revealed she was handcuffed by a federal marshal who threatened her with arrest. Another cop then released her and the mom jumped the fence while no one was looking and charged into the school herself. She eventually came out together with her two children.

The mom further insisted that some parents were tackled, handcuffed, and pepper-sprayed after growing impatient and frustrated with law enforcement.

Since the shocking incident, a disturbing clip showing law enforcement pinning a distressed parent to the ground has emerged.

Meanwhile, Steve McCraw, the Department of Public Safety’s director, spoke out and claimed that law enforcement engaged immediately.

“The bottom line is law enforcement was there. They did engage immediately. They did contain (Ramos) in the classroom,” he insisted.
