A man from Louisiana who has been accused of abusing a teenage girl is now making some startling claims about the case, adding that he is innocent.
According to local media reports, the man was 30 at the time that he r*ped a 16-year-old girl. But now, during the trial, he has opened up to say that the intimate relations that the duo held were nothing but consensual.
The suspect has been identified as John Barnes who denies all of the charges being tagged against him and now he says he is on a mission to prove his innocence because according to him, he had taken all permission before engaging in the act.
The horrifying tragedy took place in 2005 when the suspect was 30 and the victim was just 16 in age.
The duo had intimate relations after he drove her home in his car, moments after they exited a bar together.
After the encounter, the victim fell pregnant and now, their daughter is said to be 16.
Now, the suspect claims he would like to have full custody of the girl because he feels she would be safer with him. But the victim denies the call, adding that this man deserves to be in jail and cannot look after the girl.
“She was allowing our daughter to post some s*xually explicit videos through her account on TikTok”- the suspect added. “I find that to be so irresponsible and unacceptable”- he continued.
Interestingly, Barnes is also accusing the victim of allowing a ‘revolving door of men’ to come on over and sleep with her. And he thinks that is not the right sort of environment for any young girl to be in.
