A babysitter has been arrested after a hidden camera video showed a two-year-old boy crying for his father while the nanny held his arms behind his back to force-feed him.
The child’s father, Max Oglesby, and stepmother, Laura Oglesby, couldn’t believe their eyes as they watched nanny Lauren Rowe shoving food into their son’s mouth.
In the video, Declan screams for his father as Rowe pins his wrists behind his chair and force-feeds him while he cries.
The couple posted the video on Facebook and alerted the cops, who have arrested the nanny. Lauren was charged with misdemeanor child abuse.
After Rowe’s arrest, Laura Oglesby took to Facebook and wrote: “We are all emotionally drained by this whole experience.
“Our main goal now is to make sure this sticks to her like glue so she can’t ever do this sort of thing to a child, dog, or person in general ever again.”
Max Oglesby said the video they shared on social media was just “a small clip of the two hours (Rowe) spent doing this to our son.”
“And I wasn’t there,” he told Daily Mail. “S*** hurts.”
He explained that the reason they hired a nanny for a few days was because they were renovating their bar. But when they took a short break from painting the floors and watched their home footage, they were left stunned from the live broadcast.
The couple rushed to the car and contacted the boy’s biological mother, who lives near their home, to go to the house right away while they drove.
“I wanted to kick her a**,” Laura told WITN-TV. “I wanted to come here and pin her down and I wanted to put food in her mouth.”
After the heartbreaking incident, Laura sent the babysitter the video along with a text message: “You are no longer needed to nanny for us, and my suggestion is that you don’t nanny at all until you learn how to patiently handle children.
“The way you handled Declan tonight in the high chair trying to force feed him is textbook child abuse… You broke a mother’s heart tonight.”
