A German museum owner and violin maker was brutally murdered with his daughter in their home in Aregua by a gang who wanted to steal his Stradivarius Violins for money.
Police in Paraguay has revealed that two German citizens and a Chilean man have been arrested. They were suspected of killing the local museum owner and his 14-yer-old daughter by torturing them in their house. The suspects were trying to steal the official documents that proved the authenticity of precious Stradivarius violins.
The murdered man, Bernard Von Bredow, left the valuable Stradivarius violins with Grannass, a 58-year-old German who lived near his house when he was going to Germany. When he returned from Germany, Mr. Volker Grannass told him that his violins had been destroyed in a fire.
According to Police commissioner Hugo Grance, a total of four violins were in possession of Mr. Volker Grannass. Prosecutor Lorena Ledesma proclaimed that the police and the investigation department are finding out more evidence as they suspect that some other people were also involved with these men.
The police arrested 60-year-old Yves Steinmetz and 51-year-old Stephen Darchinger. They were suspected of going through everything present in Mr. Bernard Von’s house to find the international certification of authenticity of the valuable Stradivarius violins so they could be sold at a reasonable rate.
Although blood strains are found in the territory of the German museum owner, it is also not confirmed yet if Mr. Bernard Von Bredow and his 14-year-old daughter were killed in their house or somewhere else.
The neighbors of this talented instrument maker have told that the deceased man came and settled in Aregua almost 2 years ago and then dedicated his life to pursuing his passion for making violins.
