The story of 6-year-old Arthur has shocked the world after it was revealed that the boy’s father, 29-year-old Thomas Hughes, and the father’s girlfriend, 32-year-old Emma Tustin, subjected the child to “systemic abuse” involving beatings and severe punishments.

As the court heard, Thomas and his girlfriend would repeatedly slap and beat the boy and force him to stand in the hallway for hours or even entire days.

Furthermore, the tormented child was poisoned with a huge amount of salt just moments before he suffered a fatal head injury at the hands of his carers.

Now, the story has taken another grisly turn as footage taken the day before Arthur’s death revealed how the boy cried out for help after being forced to sleep on the floor.

Adding up to the gruesome nature of the case is the fact that Tustin recorded the young boy crying out and pleading for help on more than 200 occasions after her boyfriend left her alone with his son.

In some of the recordings, Arthur was heard begging Tustin for food and drinks. In others, the 32-year-old was heard commanding and scolding the boy.

Responding to his girlfriend’s voice messages, Thomas would reply with comments such as “I’ll take his neck off” and “dig Arthur’s grave.”
