Mum Teaches Toddler ‘Consent’ Before Changing His Nappy In New Viral Video


Changing nappies can be a very frustrating experience for so many people but this mum is adding a whole meaning to the term consent when it comes to her toddler.

The mum made headlines recently after she shared a video showing how she uses plenty of her free time to teach her baby about the concept of consent. And as you can probably imagine, the video went viral in an instant.

A resident from Chicago, Alissa made plenty of heads turn recently when she posted up her informative video on TikTok. Here, she shared several things that she engages in while changing her little one’s nappy.

Throughout the video, you will see her explaining how she enables her son to be a part of the entire process while she changes his diaper.point 229 |

Moreover, throughout each step, the mum actually informs her son what is it that she’s doing exactly.point 91 | In the same way, she makes it a point to check and see whether or not he is happy or not before she continues with the process.point 192 | 1

“See, the ultimate goal revolves around making him feel involved and not just a bored passive observer that has his body manipulated,” the bold mum explains.

“Ok, I’m taking your pants off right now, ok?” she questions first, right before she makes an attempt at removing his trousers. Next, she goes on to explain how she will remove his diaper.

In the video, the mum also went on to add how young kids, as well as babies, can’t really consent to the mere idea of a diaper change. However, she feels it must be done while giving the task a ‘necessary status.’

‘So what I do basically interact with my little one while I go about changing him. I explain to him and along the way, he mimics my sound in response,” she adds.
