A 21-year-old mother tragically passed away recently after her toddler accidentally shot her in the head.
The shocking news comes from outside Orlando where authorities revealed how Shamaya Lynn was reportedly engaged in a work-related Zoom call at her home. Her colleagues explained the gruesome story of how her toddler picked up his father’s gun and aimed straight at his mother.
The handgun was loaded and within easy access to the child which resulted in this tragedy, explained cops. Clearly, the child had no idea what he was doing and his mistake cost him his mother’s life in the flash of a second.
As the shocking event unfolded, the mother’s colleagues were forced to witness it all on their Zoom cameras. They claim that a loud bang filled the air and before you know it, the mum fell in a backward direction towards the ground.
Police in Florida confirmed the news, mentioning how the child’s gunshot slammed straight into his mother’s head. As soon as the co-worker witnessed the incident, she frantically called up 911, explaining the gruesome sight that she had just witnessed.
“I believe my friend has just been shot,” the panicked colleague mentioned to the 911 dispatchers.
On the other hand, detectives involved in the case mentioned how Lynn’s toddler picked up the unlocked pistol that originally belonged to his dad.He shot his mum in the head at their apartment, which is located near Altamonte Springs.
Police released a public statement after the incident claiming how it was a huge tragedy. “Both officers, as well as paramedics, did their best to provide Lynn with aid but the fatal gunshot wound to her head killed her on the spot,” they added.
Cops also spoke about how there was another toddler present inside the house, but thankfully neither of the two kids were injured in the heartbreaking incident.
