Mom Sues Nanny For Child Abuse After Discovering Home Camera Footage Forcing Her 2-Year-Old Son To Eat

In North Carolina, a mother said that her “intuition” prompted her to check her security cameras, and she was shocked to find out that the nanny she hired to look after her son is forcefully feeding him.

On Tuesday, Laura Oglesby was taking a break from a renovation project when she checked the live CCTV footage and heard that the nanny was yelling at her 2-year-old son.

Laura told McClatchy News that she then started recording the shocking incident and immediately rushed home with her husband, Max.

In the video, the nanny can be seen holding the boy down in a high chair, grabbing his face, and forcefully shoving the spoon in his mouth.

The nanny was seemingly holding the child’s mouth on purpose to make sure the kid swallows his food.

The worried parents have since uploaded the video on Facebook to warn other parents that no one can be trusted.

“We are heartbroken for our son and furious that this happened,” Max wrote in the caption. “We are taking appropriate actions upon this matter and will not stand for this happening to our baby or anyone else’s babies.”

According to the New Bern Police Department, the Facebook video was used as evidence and led to the nanny’s arrest.

The nanny was identified as 25-year-old Lauren Ashley Rowe.

The police department also said in a statement that they didn’t list an attorney for the nanny.

Meanwhile, Laura said that Rowe knew that they had security cameras in her house, adding that it makes the allegations more concerning.

Laura and Max had previously struggled over whether they should hire a nanny for their son. But because they’re taking steps to open a bar, they decided to go forward with the decision.

“Our life is very busy,” Laura said. “We normally have always taken the kids with us to do everything, but a bar is a dangerous place while we’re renovating it.”

Laura added that they confronted Rowe about the incident and told her not to come back.

And now, the mother now has a message for other parents.

“It’s very, very important that you do have cameras because nobody can be trusted,” Laura said.
