Marine Son Of Two Police Officers Is Among 13 Americans Who Died In The Bomb Attack In Kabul


A young son of two police officers was among the 13 US service members killed in the suicide bomb attack near the airport in Kabul.

Hunter Lopez from Coachella Valley, California, was a proud young Marine whose biggest wish was to serve his country with honor and dignity.

As the city of La Quinta has confirmed, Lopez was among the 13 US service members who lost their lives in Kabul after a suicide bomber blew himself up near the international airport. According to the reports, some 90 people died in the suicide attack.

“Our La Quinta Family is in mourning today with the tragic loss of Hunter Lopez, one of the fallen United States Service Members in the attack in Afghanistan,” the city’s statement read.

The tribute went on to reveal that Lopez was the son of a local police chief and deputy.

“Hunter is the son of Captain Herman and Alicia Lopez, both members of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. Captain Herman Lopez is our Police Chief and Captain over at the Thermal Station,” the statement read.

“We are all so humbled by the service and ultimate sacrifice that Hunter gave to protect our country. He was a brave and selfless soldier who answered the call to be a United States Marine. Like his parents, Hunter wanted to help serve others and protect his community.”

Paying a tribute to the fallen hero and showing sympathy for his family was also Sheriff Chad Bianco who said that the country has lost a true American Hero.
