‘Respectful’ And ‘Joyful’ Young Man Who Served His Entire Adulthood Died In The Bomb Attack In Kabul


A young man who dedicated his entire adulthood to serving his country was among 13 Americans killed in the bomb attack in Kabul.

Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover from Utah was a dedicated serviceman who joined the Marines soon after graduating from high school back in 2008.

Since then, the “respectful” and “joyful” young man spent more than a decade serving his nation before meeting his end in Kabul, Afghanistan, when an ISIS-K suicide bomber blew himself up outside the international airport and killed at least 170 people in the process.

Paying a tribute to the devoted soldier was Taylor’s father, Darin, who wrote:

“Soooooo glad I got to see him before he left. I love you son!!! You’re my hero!! Please check in on us once in a while. I’ll try to make you proud!!”

“Always a smile. Always respectful. A joy to be around. He is adored beyond measure. The world has lost a true light. Our hearts are broken. Shock, disbelief, horror, sadness, sorrow, anger and grief,” the man’s aunt, Brittany Jones Barnett, added.

Thanking his nephew for his service was also Marine’s uncle, Jeremy Soto, who called Taylor a hero as he admitted the entire family is crushed by his sudden passing.

“My handsome nephew, Staff Sergeant Taylor Hoover. Taylor spent his entire adult life as a Marine, serving. Doing the hard things that most of us can’t do. He is a hero,” he wrote.
