In Brazil, a lifeless Guiana dolphin is found washed up on the shore with a woman’s thong tightly wrapped on one of its flippers.
The undergarment is entangled real tight around its flipper that it almost cut it to the bone and people strongly believed that the thong has contributed to the dolphin’s death.
Scientists said that the woman’s thong had compromised the sea creature’s ability to swim and fish.

It is believed that the thong was attached to the sea creature’s flipper when it was very young.
The image shows that it was wrapped tightly around the dolphin’s flipper.
The dolphin was found lifeless and washed up on a beach in Brazil.
A group of veterinarians conducted an autopsy of the Guiana dolphin and strongly believe that its flipper became tangled in the thong when it was still very young.
Doctor Giulia Gaglianone said the female dolphin’s skin had healed around the thong, leaving the sea creature with a permanently open wound through which the fabric had looped.
The Guiana dolphin’s carcass —which measured up at around 1.4m— was discovered by an environmental monitoring team on a beach in Itapoa, Brazil on May 16.
The dolphin, which weighed 32.2kg, also showed signs of chronic weakness, pneumonia, and thinness.
The carcass was also found with a lot of parasites in its ear and lungs, as well as in the gill net marks around its face and breathing hole.
According to a report from The Sun, Guiana dolphins are found in coastal shallow waters and estuaries along the Atlantic coast of South and Central America, however, their population size is unknown.
Female Guiana dolphins can grow up to 2.2metres in length and can weigh up to 121kg.
