A young lesbian teenage girl committed suicide after facing abuse and harassment from her own mother.
According to reports, the 18-year-old took her own life after she revealed that she was gay. The shocking incident took place in Bethlehem, a location that was still mourning from another teen’s suicide attempt.

The family says that they kept a rather harsh attitude when the young girl revealed her true sexuality. And that is probably what prompted her to die. The family chose to keep themselves anonymous while revealing the horrifying facts.
It all started with trouble at home
But how did the entire incident occur? According to sources, the trouble began at home when the lesbian teen’s mom caught her smoking. However, it’s still unclear whether she was smoking or not as some reports claim it to be an assumption.
Whatever the case may be, things started to get ugly from that very moment. The mother went on to describe the incident as follows:
‘My son came to me and said not only was my daughter smoking at the tuck shop but that she’s a lesbian,’ claimed the mom who resides east of Bloemfontein.
‘ I was so angry,’ she continued. I waited for her to return back and when she finally did, I couldn’t stop myself. I slapped her really hard while taking out a belt for beating her.’
Mother finds a heart-wrenching letter from the daughter
Furthermore, the gay teen’s mother explained how she went straight to her bedroom while leaving her daughter alone to cry. She never bothered or paid any heed when she witnessed her daughter entering the back room, outside.
However, the next morning was devastating, to say the least. The mother witnessed a traumatizing tale altogether. She attempted to frantically search for her daughter and then finally found her.
There was a heart-wrenching letter on the table that her bisexual daughter had painstakingly written. The mother described the horrific ordeal and the events that led to it:
‘I was cleaning the back room and I found a letter between the sheets where she wrote, “I just wanted you to accept me for who I wanted to be, mom. I am a lesbian.’
Gay teenager’s mother lives with unshakable guilt
The mother knew what she had done. Her mind, body, and soul just couldn’t accept the situation as a whole. Her daughter had taken her own life. Above all, she was helpless. There was nothing that she could do. And there was nothing in the world that could bring her daughter back.
Today, her mother lives with immeasurable guilt while grieving the loss of her only daughter. This is what she said in the end:
‘If only we were able to talk to her in a calm manner. But I reacted so badly. I blame myself for my child’s death.’
