Maria Sholder, a disabled old woman, spent a lot of her money on online delivery but didn’t receive anything in return and was left with no food to feed her grandchildren.
The 48-year-old mother of three has been suffering from MRSA and could not visit the supermarket herself to get something to eat. She has been using the online delivery service of the same store for a long time but has never faced such an issue before. She is very disappointed at their customer service now.
She placed her first order on October 13 that didn’t arrive due to some technical problems. The money had been taken out but was not refunded even after 14 days.
The second order was placed on October 26, but again her order didn’t arrive as there was some error in the system. Then again, on October 27, she submitted her order, but the store management told her that the paperwork was misplaced and the money would be refunded soon.
Due to her disease, Maria is not in a condition to visit the store herself. She has nobody to do the grocery for her. She has every proof that she paid for all the deliveries but didn’t get anything in return. By now, the mother of three didn’t have enough money to get more food and had to send back her grandchildren who were staying with her.
On Friday morning, Maria got her first delivery from Asda.A spokesperson from Asda has apologized for everything and accepted that they had to cancel the disabled woman’s order due to some issues, but now they are working to refund all the money.
This type of misconduct happens rarely, but the staff of Asda is sorry for the inconvenience Maria had faced.
Would you mind sharing this article among your fellows and letting them know what kind of challenges a disabled person has to face? We should be grateful for the blessing of ‘health’ as it is something that cannot be replaced.
