Kimberly Potter, the Cop Who Killed Daunte Wright, Attends First Court Hearing


Kimberly Potter who accidentally, as she likes to call it, killed Daunte Wright is witnessed in the public for the first time on Thursday in St Paul, Minnesota.

The ex-cop was spotted leaving her lawyer’s office as she was accompanied by her husband Jefferson, 54, after she attended her first court hearing in Hennepin County District Court via Zoom.

According to the sources, she looked weary and exhausted and she was wearing a casual checked shirt. Potter was sitting with her lawyer Earl Gray who is a notorious lawyer as he is also the defense lawyer of Thomas Lane who is one of the cops involved in George Floyd’s murder.

The 48-year old Potter, who is also a mother of two children, was earlier booked by Hennepin County jail but only to be released a couple of hours later as she paid a bond worth $100,000. Kimberly Potter is charged with second-degree manslaughter for murdering Daunte Wright.

The hearing was 10-minute long while she spoke only to confirm her name and address. The punishment carries a 10-year sentence to jail and Potter did not enter a plea against the charge. However, her lawyer has previously pleaded with the court to stop the proceeding from being live broadcasted which was moved in their favor.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension took her into custody at 11:30 am (local time) on Wednesday booking her into jail but later released her on bond.point 135 | 1

Only a few minutes after Potter’s first court hearing, Wright’s family held a press conference with their lawyer Ben Crump. The press conference was emotionally charged and the family asked vital questions such as how did Potter confuse a yellow-colored taser with a gun?
