Jeremy Clarkson Lambasted Online For Making ‘Creepy’ And ‘Weird’ Remarks On 18-Year-Old Greta Thunberg

Broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson, 61, has been heavily criticized online for making ‘weird’ and ‘creepy’ comments about Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, 18, in his column for The Sunday Times.

Last week, Thunberg joined hundreds of world leaders, journalists, and other delegates at a rally in Glasgow following the COP26 summit in an effort to cut greenhouse gases.

The 18-year-old climate activist mocked those inside the conference, where US President Joe Biden allegedly fell asleep earlier this week.

“Change is not going to come from inside there,” Thunberg argued. “That is not leadership.”

The 18-year-old continued to address the demonstrators at the rally, and went on to slam leaders for ‘pretending to take our future seriously, pretending to take the present seriously’.

Thunberg chants at the COP26 rally were met with support worldwide. One chant, in particular, went viral: ‘you can shove your climate crisis up your a***’.

Despite the mass support from across the world, not everyone gave a nod to Thunberg, especially Clarkson.

Clarkson, who is often to be involved in controversies, has since been active with a series of shows on Amazon Prime and regularly contributes to The Sunday Times.

In Clarkson’s most recent write-up, the journalist ridiculed the teen activist.

“She has no knowledge of how the world works, no manners and no letters after her name,” the 61-year-old wrote in the article.

It was his next line that sparked a huge controversy.

“Instead of going to school, she’s been busy sailing around the world so she can be mardy and abusive to grown-ups,” Clarkson wrote. “What she needs is a smacked bottom.”

He also went on to call Thunberg a ‘Swedish doom goblin’ in his column.

Some of the readers did not take Clarkson’s comments lightly and are quick to express their disappointment on Twitter.

“Middle-aged white men using column inches to have pops at a young girl who is concerned about the environment is just [redacted] weird,” one reader tweeted.
