Kyle Rittenhouse has startled so many people during his first exclusive interview, ever since he was acquitted on Friday.
The 18-year-old claims that his case had nothing to do about race or the issues relating to race. In fact, he went on to add how he strongly supports the Black Lives Matter movement.
“This case had absolutely nothing to do with race, it had to do with the subject of self-defense,” he went on to mention to Fox News host Tucker Carlson during his interview that is all set to air on Monday.
“I am not a racist person, I support the BLM and all peaceful demonstrations,” Rittenhouse went on to reiterate.
On Friday, a jury cleared the 18-year-old from all his charges which included homicide, attempts at homicide, and reckless endangerment too, despite him killing two people and wounding another in Kenosha last year.
At that time, Rittenhouse was 17 when he brought his semiautomatic rife as well as a medical kit towards Kenosha. He stated that he did that in an effort to protect businesses as there were riots breaking out, left and right.
These riots occurred after the killing of Jacob Blake, who was a black man that was left in a paralyzed state from his waist downwards, after a police shooting last year.
Rittenhouse’s attorneys went on to fight his case, arguing how the teen-only acted in that manner because of self-defense and that was the real reason why he opened fire, as he feared he would be killed.
On the other hand, the 18-year-old also insisted how he had no other choice than to defend himself as all the protesters were a threat to his life.
“I tell everybody there what happened. I told them that I had to do it and that I had no choice. I was attacked, I felt dizzy, I was vomiting, I just couldn’t breathe,” he explained.
