A mum of two is going viral after losing an immense amount of weight because she didn’t want to be her husband’s fat wife.
Sonia Greensill weighed 20 stone and was always looked down upon because of her weight. Moreover, she had very little confidence and poor self-esteem because of her major weight issues. And in the end, it began taking a toll on her relationship too.
For this reason, the mum of 2 decided it was finally time for a change. She no longer needed to hide behind baggy clothes and closed doors. Therefore, she thought to lose weight through conventional means.

Too ashamed to meet new people
As a mum of 2, life can be pretty daunting. Moreover, you’re surrounded by responsibilities galore. And at the end of the day, looking great and eating healthy is the last thing on so many people’s minds.
Sonia Greensill is the perfect example of the notion above. But little did she know how much her 20 Stone weight kept her away from doing normal things.
Her husband loved meeting people from all over the place. And whenever he went ahead and planned things with his work friends, his wife always found the perfect excuse to say no. From being too tired to caring for the kids and so on and so forth- the excuses kept coming in. And in the end, she began to realize that things were slowly slipping away.
“I didn’t want to be my husband’s fat wife”
Just the thought of being a fat wife for the rest of her life is a reality that no one wants to accept. And Sonia was clearly no exception.
“I did not want to be an embarrassment to anyone, including my husband.” Moreover, the fear of meeting new people was absolutely dreadful. After all, looks do make the best first impression. “I used to wonder that if his friends met me, they’d think he’s married to a fat woman.”
Therefore, Sonia hid from any opportunity that made others judge her based on her size. “I just didn’t want to face it so that’s why I simply would not go,” she exclaimed.
The struggle for weight loss begins
Despite the millions of things that ran through her head, Sonia says she just wasn’t ready to give up on her food. “I wish my fear of people judging me could prevent me from eating the wrong things,” she added. For her, that was the hardest part of her weight loss journey.

“I was tired of feeling out of place and abnormal most of the time.” And that’s when her daughter suggested she join ‘Slimming World’ together.
