A 45-year-old woman was left fighting for her life after her organs turned into concrete after a botched gastric sleeve surgery in Turkey.

Pinky Holley decided to fly to Istanbul for the operation after doctors expressed their concerns about her weight due to serious medical complications.

Despite hearing concerns about the invasive two-hour operation, which reduces the size of the stomach by 85 percent, she still went ahead.

But after the surgery, Pinky experienced multiple complications right away, including dehydration, abdominal pain, and vomiting.

When she returned home, her GP urged her to visit a hospital.

She then rushed to Arrow Park Hospital where an emergency CT scan showed a serious leak after the operation and it resulted in an infection which had turned her internal organs to ‘concrete.’

“I feel misled and upset that something that was meant to help has caused me so much suffering. I’ve lost four stone in four weeks because my stomach is tiny,” Pinky said.

“I wanted to lose eight stone within two years,” Pinky continued. “I’ve had to have a feeding tube to help but everything is so painful. After nearly dying I just wish I never got a gastric sleeve.”

She said that the operation in Turkey left her insides “so infected they were all hard like concrete.”

“It’s been a horrible ordeal I just want to be well again. Looking back it was so cheap that I really should have thought twice but I just got so swept up.”

The inside of her stomach was ‘jet-washed’ by three surgeons before she battled sepsis for more than a month.

“I’m so thankful for all the help I’ve received when I returned. I’ve lost so much weight, but this isn’t how I wanted it to happen,” she added.
