The tragic last words of Halyna Hutchins have been revealed nearly two weeks after the deadly shooting on the Rust movie set.
On October 21, the 42-year-old cinematographer was accidentally shot dead by Alec Baldwin, whose prop Colt .45 contained one live bullet, while the crew was shooting in Santa Fe.
Now, the deceased wife and mother’s last words have emerged.
“That was no good. That was no good at all,” the photography director allegedly said after collapsing on the set for the western movie.
The shooting took place while Baldwin was rehearsing a scene involving the revolver. Speaking to Director Joel Souza, the 63-year-old veteran actor said:
“So, I guess I’m gonna take this out, pull it, and go, ‘Bang!’”
After pulling out the gun, which was supposed to be safe for use according to assistant director David Halls, Baldwin fired a shot only for a live bullet to fly out of the barrel and strike the cinematographer.
After exiting Hutchins’ body from the back of her chest, the bullet went on to hit Souza in the shoulder, prompting the director to shout and collapse on the floor.
“What the f*** was that? That burns!” the director yelled before Baldwin added: “What the f*** just happened?”
Perplexed by what had happened, Baldwin immediately put the gun down while crew members began calling for a medic.
“I can’t feel my legs,” Hutchins cried out after collapsing into the arms of head electrician Serge Svetnoy who carefully placed her on the floor.
As the Los Angeles Times reported, it was at this time that one of Halyna’s staffers attempted to stop the bleeding and save her.
“Oh, that was no good,” the boom operator allegedly said. Responding, Halyna added: “No, that was no good. That was no good at all.”
According to the reports, it is believed that Hutchins did not speak after that. She succumbed to her injuries hours later.
