A young mother passed away shortly after losing her daughter to an unforgiving heart condition.
31-year-old Alice Holton was a dedicated mother and wife who remained “positive and bubbly” despite going through a series of tragedies in her life.
When she was just a young child, Alice was fostered after losing both of her parents. At the age of 15, she met Darren whom she later married and stayed with for the rest of her life.
Bliss, however, didn’t last long, and the couple soon faced heartbreak after their first daughter, Ella Dee, was diagnosed with a heart defect before she was even born.
Though the child underwent major heart surgery soon after she was born, the family was told Ella needed another donor heart because her body had rejected the first replacement.
Unfortunately, the young girl died in 2017 much to the sorrow of her mother, father, and younger sister Evie.
In October 2020, shortly after the painful loss, the family was struck with another tragedy when Alice was diagnosed with breast cancer. To make matters worse, the doctors later confirmed that cancer had already spread to her brain.
Though she immediately began “aggressive radiotherapy” in an attempt to beat the disease, Alice was told nothing else could be done to counter her condition.
Despite the “absolute hell” she faced, the joyful and bubbly mother showed “unbelievable strength” even after being diagnosed with cancer, her friend, Annalee Dee, revealed.
“She pushed herself until after Evie’s birthday. She didn’t want to go on her birthday. She was just so strong. My heart breaks talking about it. It has been nothing but heartache,” Dee said.
Sadly, Alice died on October 19, 2021, just two days after Evie’s 5th birthday.
“She’s not had the best life growing up. She was so positive though, she was the one who kept us all sane. She was so bubbly, bouncy and energetic,” Dee added in a tribute to her best friend.
“Just so positive. She went through hell and was just such a lovely person. She was dealt the worst cards in life but took on every single hurdle.”
