Graham Hope, 64, was cleaning his Range Rover before he was approached by a man. The CCTV footage shows a man dressed in a black top and shorts came up to Graham and the pair can be seen having a conversation.

A few minutes after, things got heated and the man pushed the grandad. The old man was able to throw some punches before the man head-butted him.

The old man crawled under his car trying to escape the man who continues to punch and kick him. The incident happened on Saturday afternoon in Horwich, Bolton, outside Graham’s business.

The brawl only ended after a bystander came over to separate Graham and the man. She then dialed emergency services to report the incident.

Graham, a business owner, suffered a broken nose, dislocated shoulder, broken ribs, severe bruising, and a gash to his head, which needed stitches.

He explained that he thinks the reason for the attack is when he handed the footage to the authorities where the man’s work van smashed into a neighbor’s parked vehicle.

The grandad also claims that the man has threatened him two weeks earlier but the authorities are hesitant to take action.

“When I saw him, I knew it was going to end with me getting a fist in the face,” the grandfather said. “I’m 64 and not going to fight anyone but when he headbutted me, I knew it wasn’t going to end well.”

“I just wanted to get out of the way and was trying to protect myself when he grabbed hold of me and threw me to the floor,” he continued. “I dislocated my arm and he continued kicking and punching me. I didn’t think he was going to stop.”

“He had no regard for me and just wanted to hurt me,” he added. “Two 999 calls were made and because he had previously threatened me and was still there, the calls were classed as grade 1.”

After calling emergency hotlines, the ambulance came and waited 15 minutes for the police to arrive before taking the old man to the hospital. He says four other calls were made to the police station, but Graham was told the force was busy to visit him.

“The guy said he was annoyed because my CCTV cameras were pointing at his house but I think it was because I’d given our neighbor CCTV footage of the guy’s van crashing into a parked vehicle,” the 64-year-old explained.

“When I reported him threatening me earlier this month, the police said they would have a word with him,” he continued. “It is two days since I was attacked and the police haven’t done a thing.”

“It’s not good enough,” he added. “I’m off work at the moment because of my injuries but I can’t go back because he might attack me again.”
