Theia Mckie, 7, was in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where her worried mother, Tracey Currie, posted pictures of her little girl and asked people to pray for her child.

But the following day, Theia was allowed home with the diagnosis that she had just a migraine.

However, her parents feared something was terribly wrong after they got back home from the hospital.

Theia’s parents were still unconvinced, with the mother saying how Theia was still screaming in pain when she looked at the light and was continuing to vomit.

“So we got little missy home but she’s no better,” Theia wrote on Facebook. “They said it’s a migraine and gave us meds for her but my little missy is in agony.”

“I’m at a total loss,” she said.

Devastatingly, Theia died the next day.

“We simply have no words,” Theia’s mum wrote after her daughter’s tragic death. “Today our kind, a funny, smart beautiful princess was taken way too soon.”

“We are lost beyond comprehension,” she added.  “Theia sweetheart 7 years of you will never ever be enough for mummy and daddy.”

A postmortem into Theia’s death has still to be carried out and the family is keen not to put any blame until they are sure what caused her untimely demise.

Meanwhile, Theia’s grandmother Raye Currie said that the family was “utterly devastated”.

“As we don’t know why Theia passed away, we can’t comment,” she said. “Hopefully, the results of her postmortem will give us answers.”
