Shocking news coming out from Ohio has gone on to reveal how the state plans to pay a staggering amount of money to a man convicted of horrific child abuse after prison guards tackled him in a violent manner.
According to local media outlets, the suspect has been identified as Seth Fletcher who was slammed to the ground by guards present at Ohio’s Chillicothe Correctional Institution.
However, his injuries turned out to be of a severe extent, leaving him paralyzed for the rest of his life, reports explained.
Now, Ohio plans to pay $17.5 million to the suspect who has been convicted of s*x abuse against young children.
21-year-old Seth Fletcher became severely paralyzed after the incident, after suffering from critical injuries to his spinal cord. Moreover, it was reported how the prison guards used an excessive force of a malicious and sadistic nature as they began to tackle and handcuff him.
He forcibly fell to the ground on his face, right after a strip search was performed on him last year.
Despite the suspect’s massive pleas for help, his grave injuries were ignored as he lay in a limp state at a jail cell overnight. Reports added how he couldn’t move, after which he was finally taken to a medical facility in the morning.
After the incident, one of the prison guards also went about boasting on social media how he managed to ‘paralyze the dude’ as mentioned in the lawsuit filed against the state, just days after the incident surfaced.
The actual harrowing incident began when the guards found out that he was reportedly carrying cigarettes and they even suspected that perhaps those contained drugs of some sort. For that reason, they began to violently strip search him.
