An unhinged attacker reportedly entered into one Target store in Brooklyn recently and then tried to choke an NYPD cop.
According to local media outlets, the man started to behave in bizarre and disorderly conduct, spreading panic and fear amongst plenty present in his surrounding. But the violent drama didn’t end there as the attacker started to flip things off of the shelves, right before he made an attempt to choke one police officer from the NYPD.
The shocking incident was revealed via video footage, showing how the duo was left wrestling down on the ground.
Moreover, authorities spoke about how the violent encounter took center stage during the afternoon hours of 2 pm and that’s when the cop noticed the man behaving rather strangely at the store located in the Atlantic Terminal Mall.
The attacker was identified as a 44-year-old named Henroy Johnson who went about threatening the cop using a bottle, right before he started to wrestle him down on the ground. In the same way, he could be seen punching the officer brutally with a closed fist, explained the police.
There comes one point in the violent ordeal where the attacker even tries his level best to strangle the cop as the officer lays on his back.
The attacker who hails from the Bowery district of Manhattan was soon arrested and charged with the crime of assault upon a law enforcement officer, with related charges of obstruction, resisting, and menacing too, added a recent report from the NYPD.
The Brooklyn cop was then treated on the scene for the cuts and bruises he suffered to different parts of his body. This includes his eyes, cheek, and head.
Meanwhile, the President for the Police Benevolent Association has reportedly termed the video and incident as one that is ‘incredibly disturbing.’
