A loving father has been left fighting for his life after getting attacked by his son’s bullies.
46-year-old Alan Willson from Worthing, England, is a dedicated care worker and a loving father to an 11-year-old son.
Back in April, the dad suffered extreme injuries, including broken bones and fractures to his spine, after standing up to bullies who were harassing his young son.
According to the reports, the 11-year-old was being picked on by three older teenagers, aged from 14 to 17, who beat the father after he attempted to protect his son.
Following the April 4 attack, Alan was rushed to the hospital where he had to undergo a brain procedure and ended up in a coma. Months later, the kind man is still in his recovery and is struggling to eat, drink, and talk.
“He cannot speak and has lost vision in one eye and has now been assessed as having no mental capacity due to four brain injuries,” Alan’s wife Annie expressed in an interview with The Sun.
“He cannot eat so is fed through a tube every three hours by me. He has had such great trauma to his face — he won’t even allow us to shave him as it’s an object coming towards him.”
Last week, months after the assault, the authorities have confirmed that the three teens associated with the attack on the father have since been charged with grievous bodily harm.
Meanwhile, Good Samaritans began raising funds to financially help out the Willson family during these challenging times.
“I am so grateful to everybody for their well-wishes and donations in the weeks and months following the assault on my husband,” Annie added in a statement.
“We have been overwhelmed and touched by the kindness and generosity people have gone out of their way to show to me and my family.
“I would like to thank the medical staff who did such an amazing job looking after my husband in hospital, and my children for being so supportive at what has been such a difficult time for us all.”
