A mother has been accused of taking the life of her own toddler because he was naughty and misbehaved on a routine basis.
According to heartbreaking reports from local media outlets, little Kemarni Watson Darby was found in a lifeless state by authorities in his home, which was located in West Bromwich.
The 3-year-old toddler had reportedly undergone a beating of severe intensity because he misbehaved, as mentioned to the jurors in the court.
Authorities identified the cruel parents as Alicia Watson and her husband Nathaniel Pope who reportedly denied any charges related to murder and child cruelty.
Alicia Watson and her then-boyfriend Nathaniel were charged for carrying out a vicious and forceful attack against the child in 2018 as reported by Birmingham Live.
Other details into the alarming case spoke about how 31-year-old Pope would even lock the young child alone in a room, using snapped electrical cable wires to keep the door shut as a striking punishment for his naughty behavior, as revealed in Birmingham Crown Court.
Meanwhile, another close witness spoke about how the child stayed alone but it was not Pope that beat him but his actual mom who would carry on with the attacks.
“He was beaten really hard for misbehaving or for accidentally urinating on the carpet floor or for throwing his toys,” the witness explained.
The child would feel really upset after the violent attacks against him, remaining in his crib for a while, the witness added.
“The child was hot-tempered, he liked throwing his toys and being naughty but at the end of the day, he was only a child,” the witness went on to explain.
Kemarni’s mother has been accused of slapping her son so hard and beating him in a manner that resulted in rib fractures, alongside a number of wounds to his colon and liver too.
Prosecutors revealed how the child’s body was covered in bruises that could be found on his mouth, neck, abdomen, chest, legs, back, and lungs- clearly showing the heartbreaking violence he was forced to endure by his own loved ones.
