Melinda Kolodynski, a mom-of-two, died only weeks after she was given an end-of-life prognosis.

“Once again we spend a couple of days with our heads in the pillow, tears streaming down our faces but it’s time to get up dust off and soldier on because there is a fight to be had and I’m not done here,” she wrote.

Her heartbreaking post inspired her loved ones who begged her to ‘keep fighting’ after she was diagnosed with cancer.

Before she passed away, Melinda said that her only regret would be missing out on watching her children grow up.

She left behind her husband and two songs, Corey, 1, and Maximus, 7.

The loving mother’s nightmare started in 2020 when she experienced back pain and she thought it was caused by her period.

Melinda took Panadol to ease the pain but only two months later, she was struck by an agonizing pain.

“I was in the worst pain of my life,” she told 7News. “I was begging my husband to kill me as we waited for the ambulance, it was that bad.”

She was rushed to a hospital where CT scans revealed masses of advanced ovarian cancer.

But further tests revealed a more terrifying diagnosis: an ultra-rare angiosarcoma, which develops in the inner lining of blood vessels and lymph vessels.

“It’s a one-in-a-million type of cancer… Being in my pelvis as a primary cancer meant mine was actually a one-in-10-million case,” she said.

After chemotherapy failed, she was informed that the only treatment was 16-hour surgery to remove organs around her pelvis and replace them with stoma bags.

However, the tumor had grown so big that surgery would no longer work.

“Cancer has metastasized to my liver and is quite progressed, my oncologist talks of prognoses that I’m quite frankly just not willing to accept, so once again we spend a couple of days with our heads in the pillow, tears streaming down our faces but it’s time to get up dust off and soldier on because there is a fight to be had and I’m not done here,” she said.
