‘My Husband Stopped Talking To Me After I Made An Innocent Change In Our Family Bathroom’s Toilet Seat’

A mother has shared how her husband has stopped talking to her after she made an innocent change in their family bathroom’s toilet seat.

She explained that she has been potty training their daughter so she bought a 3-in-1 ‘family loo seat.’

However, her decision to make the change has angered her husband, who thinks she has ‘ruined the toilet.’

Posting on Mumsnet, the mother wrote: “We have 3 year old who has been potty training for the last few months. We were using the removable put on and off toilet toddler plastic inserts.

“It was just a faff putting it on and off, storing it, my toddler trying to put her hands all over it … but also it was bright green which is fine, but it just didn’t go with the downstairs loo.”

That’s when she bought a 3-in-1 family loo seat as it looks neat and everyone can still use the same toilet seat.

However, her husband was not happy with the change.

“My husband is in an awful mood about it because he thinks it looks out of place, doesn’t look like it fits properly and thinks it’s awful,” the mother went on.

She then told her husband that it’s just a toilet seat but he told her that she doesn’t listen to him, adding that she ‘ruined’ it.

“Am I seeing something else? Does it look awful?”

People on Mumsnet were divided, with one person writing: “I think it looks fine and it won’t be forever. Is he one of these that likes to sit on the toilet for 20+ minutes? Maybe you’ve messed with his happy place.”

Another said: “I think it looks really uncomfortable, but presumably it’s a short-term thing, and he’s the one acting like an idiot if he’s actually not talking to you because of it.”
