A woman who attacked her mother on her wedding day had been removed from her inheritance.
26-year-old Claire Goodbrand and her husband Eamonn Goodbrand spent their wedding night in prison after the bride attacked her 47-year-old mother with a stiletto in June 2019.
According to reports, Claire pleaded guilty to assault where she grabbed her mother, Cherry-Ann Lindsay, by the hair and hit her with a stiletto. She also put her hands around her mother’s throat.
New reports reveal that Lindsay has removed Claire out of her will to make sure she won’t be able to get any of her properties, caravan, or life insurance.
“When we did the speeches the boys were slurring their words. When Eamonn finished he said to me, ‘Thanks, Mum, for the money’. That’s all they care about,” she told The Sun.
“I felt worried they were thinking they’d get everything if anything happened to me. After the wedding, I changed all the paperwork and disinherited her so she’ll get nothing.”
Claire, her husband, and his brother Kieran all spent the night in jail after the disastrous wedding.
Lindsay also told the Mail: “She then grabbed me and put me in a choke hold. I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was going to die.”
Police rushed to the venue The Vu at Ballencrieff Toll, Bathgate in West Lothian after the brawl. The bride, groom, and best man were all held in custody that night.
They admitted attacking Lindsay’s partner, David Boyd, by pushing their thumbs into his eyes and biting him on his body and head while restricting his breathing.
