It was in 2021 when Roberto Avila was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He started treatment with his wife Andrea Gonzalez by his side.

Because of their medical expenses, Roberto could no longer pay for his treatment and his daughter’s, so he had to make a heartbreaking choice between treating himself and his daughter.

The selfless father then decided to put his child’s needs before his own, stopping his treatments to give his daughter a fighting chance.

In June 2022, Roberto died and his wife shared a heartbreaking post on Facebook.

“You kept your promise, you didn’t give up, for you it didn’t stay, now I know you will continue with the promise of always watching over Andy and me from heaven, we will miss you so much, I will fulfill my promise and take care of our princess,” she wrote.

“I love you babe, forever.”

Andrea was still in intensive care after her father died. Her mother shared Facebook posts asking for everyone to pray for her daughter.

But the youngster’s health deteriorated and she died only months after she was diagnosed with brain cancer.
