The book was to be published and distributed by Simon & Schuster but the plans have not been changed as the publication said it does not want to be involved in this case. Nonetheless, a Tennessee-based Post Hill Press has agreed to take the charge. The publication deals with pop and art culture alongside political and conservative Christian books as well.

Jonathan Mattingly is one of the cops who were charged for killing Breonna Taylor at her own home while hunting for her partner over drug charges. The cops entered the house with a ‘no-knock policy’ because of which he shot back to defend himself as he was unaware of the fact that it was a police raid.

During the shooting from the cops, several bullets hit Breonna who was only innocent in this whole matter trying to protect herself at the midnight not knowing what is going on. Mattingly was injured in this whole scenario as well and he has now decided to write a book on the issue to which a lot of people are strongly reacting to. The book is called “The Fight For Truth: The Inside Story Behind the Breonna Taylor Tragedy.”

After a backlash from the community,  Simon & Schuster decided to step back and not get involved in this matter to keep their academic integrity. Among these people was Kentucky Democrat Rep. Attica Scott who tweeted on it saying that people profit off of Black pain and tragedies because it sells.

While Eric Thomas wrote that he is glad that Simon & Schuster is now distancing from the disgusting cop’s book because the public knows what truly happened so there is no need for more insight over the matter.

Mattingly, however, does not believe that the incident was racially charged. While speaking on an interview a couple of months before he said that it had nothing to do with race and this death is not relatable to George Floyd’s or Ahmaud Arbery because these both are two different incidents.
