A student from year six committed suicide in Australia after her alleged sex abuser walked out free from jail on bail.
According to reports from the media, the shocking tragedy left the nation in absolute awe when an alleged rapist was granted bail, despite carrying out his heinous crime, weeks ago.
The young child’s mum claims her daughter was so shaken from the incident, and couldn’t sleep for days. Moreover, when news broke out about how the rapist’s freedom, it was as if the young child relived the trauma all over again.
Therefore, the 11-year-old innocent girl began to inflict injuries upon herself, which resulted in her death, the very next day, confirmed reports.
Now, the distraught child’s mum claims for justice, mentioning how the police as the court of law let her baby down. Knowing that the child abuser could potentially harm others, they still let him walk away freely.
Moreover, critics have also raised questions concerning the matter, as it feels there is a lack of support for victims with an Aboriginal background who become involved in such crime.
Her alleged suspect was guilty of sexual penetration of children under the age of 13 as well as indecent dealings with the child. Unfortunately, he was also released upon bail, the same day, confirmed reports.
“They all let my young baby down. She had such a lovely and bubbly personality and was so outgoing too,” the child’s mum explained.
Meanwhile, the Police Minister for WA explained how she was concerned about the case.
“It’s always so distressing to hear and see about such cases.” She also spoke about how she could do nothing more at this particular moment in time other than offer prayers for the victim who lost her life and her family that must grieve for their lost loved one.
Meanwhile, the director for the National Suicide Prevention and Trauma Recovery Project mentioned how it was a huge mistake to grant such a sexual predator bail. He also urged the government to look into the matter before it was too late as such incidents shouldn’t be taking place in the future for the safety of all.
