It was a moment of horror come true for one family recently after a mother dropped her own baby down to her death from a mall’s escalator.
According to local media outlets, the shocking incident took place in India as the mother attempted to take a selfie from an escalator while cradling her 10-month-old baby girl in her arms. Some reports claim the selfie was requested from the father, which soon took an ugly turn.
The parents were at a mall in the Indian state of Ganganagar, right after they made a visit to the doctor. Footage from the tragic incident revealed the moment-by-moment action where the young child could be seen slipping away quickly from the mum’s arms.
Moreover, witnesses present at the mall added how the shocking incident took place as the child’s father kept on insisting on a selfie.
In the extremely graphic content-themed video, the couple begins to take a few selfies right outside a shop near an escalator. Soon, the couple makes their way upwards as they wish to go to the floor above.
Upon stepping onto the mall’s escalator in India, the mother cradles her baby in her arms. Everything appears to be going right and that’s when the father can be seen forcing his wife to take pictures, despite the fact that her arms are full. And that ultimately resulted in the mum losing her balance and eventually allowing her baby to slip and fall from her arms.
The young girl fell around 3 floors from above, and hence instantly passed away as she slammed into the ground. The incident sparked panic amongst plenty of shoppers who saw the event take place live. They all rushed to try and save her but all their efforts went in vain.
The 10-month-old baby was rushed to a nearby hospital and that’s when doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Now, police are continuing their investigation into the case which could have easily been prevented by exercising a little caution from the parents’ side.
